Worse ever

I have been 4 months with out my stove top burners working. They would send people to my house and they wouldn't come back because of Select not paying them.

I also had my lawyer contact them to get a refund with NO answer back.

I would never recommend them to anyone.

I paid cash for a policy after speaking with there sales and doing some online research. Based on what I read I was confident this company would meet my needs if I had to use the service.

What I found out after running into two separate issues, first my Dishwasher, and then a plumbing issue. Is they are slow to respond, deny claims quickly and have no concern with customer satisfaction. Issue number 1 - My dishwasher stopped working. When the technician came out and provided them a quote to fix, the company stated it was too expensive to fix due to the parts.

My dishwasher was only a few years old. What I was required to do is purchase a new one, and they refunded my 100.00 almost two months later. Issue number 2- Plumbing leak. Still not resolved after two months.

Several technicians would not even answer the service call because they stated the company denies most claims and is slow to pay. As Select refused to pay the plumber to look at the pipes because there was drywall. Selects reasoning was the following his clause 10.4. "Access.

It is your responsibility to provide access to the system or appliance in need of repair. Which they stated we would have to cut the drywall to give the plumber access." The plumber can not even fix the seals as through the drywall is the only way to resolve the issue.

Issue number 3 - When speaking with there customer service, they are all offshored and they will not allow you to speak with a manager or supervisor. They tell you they will escalate, but every time I have asked for this, there is no return call, or no action taken to try to assist.

My opinion based on my experience is run, run, quickly and keep your money away from this company.

Roof leak

Called to process a claim regarding a leak in my room. I was approved to call a contractor out to diagnose the issue.

Once the contractor was there he was instructed to call the claims department. He did and they told him to text a picture of the damage, yes text, and call back in an hour. When he called back they said they would call him sometime tomorrow and to inform the home owner, me. I called them back and they told me that it would take 24-48hrs to review, a leak.

I asked numerous times for a manager and the customer service rep.

kept trying to make excuses and passing messages from the so called supervisor that wouldn't get on the phone. Eventually the rep told me that my claim would be denied because it was caused by a crack. No crap, that is typically how you get a roof leak!!! But still refused to get a manager/supervisor on the phone.

FYI their call reps are not based in the US and it was hard to get him to understand the urgency with a leak in my roof, in my room. I would not use this company. And as soon as my warranty is up I will find another home warranty company!

SHW is a scam and a joke! I paid hundreds of dollars for them to do everything in their power not to do their job.

I paid in full (my fault) to get the discount they offer. After my first 30 days, I called in regarding an issue with my hot water tank; however, I was told they do not fix leaks.

During the sales pitch, they stated if they are unable to fix an item, they would replace it. Now I am being told, they do not fix or replace items that leaks, it's a denial for the claim. I cancelled and requested a full refund. They said a full refund will not be issued, an early termination fee of $75 will be deducted plus the week of service the account was in standing.

I've spent more time on the phone to get my money back than the amount of time I had service with them. They are thieves!!!

Failure to honor their contract

Having ongoing issues regarding a water heater. First tech came and took our deposit and cashed check, but never submitted requested itemized estimate despite MULTIPLE calls.

Second tech came, but won't work with company because they don't pay.

Have called company multiple times and get same patronizing answer. Now it's time for legal action - Breach of Contract claim.

Started a policy 10/18, my washer broke on 9/5/19 and I still haven't been serviced. I had to go to the laundromat last week so tired of waiting.

Whenever I called they always ask me if I know someone that can fix it and they will reimburse them. Really, that's the whole point of me purchasing a policy! I contacted a few technicians and they said that they don't deal with them. SHW kept emailing me saying that someone will be out within 24 to 48 hrs.

*** I finally asked for a refund and cancellation of my policy since they haven't done *** for me anyway, well they offered to give me back my last payment which is no constellation considering the fact that I wasted over $450 on this company. This is just unfathomable to me that they can get away with this.

The most horrible company I have ever dealt with. After all of my groceries had spoiled due to me waiting for a week for somebody to repair my refrigerator I was informed I could contact a repair man, however, if the repair was over one hundred dollars the repair man needed to contact them for approval to fix the problem.

I just webnt ahead and had it fixed at my own expense, which I should of done in the first place.

I called them to cacel my plan with them, they tried to give me other options, I asked if they would pay for the food that had spoiled, once again it was not in the contract.I'm totally done with home warranties, it seems like whatever goes wrong it's not covered. Select home warranty was by far the worst organization I have ever dealt with.Stay away from this company

I contacted select home warranty on Sat. 09/08/19, I received a phone message the next day stating they needed more information, I called on Sun.

09/09/19. And was told someone would contact me in 24 to 48 hours.

It is now 09/16/19, no one has showed up as of yet. I received an e-mail that I could call a tech, with many restictions added. In the mean time .all of my food I was trying to keep on ice has spoiled.

I decided to pay the bill myself just to get my refrigerator fixed Which should have been under warranty. Just a horrible company to work with.

I was informed because of the leak they wouldn’t cover it. I sent certified letters with quotes stating how bad the water heater was they still refused after 3 months of going back and fought l told the company l just wanted to get out they said l had 0 money to be returned because in Oct of 2018 they gave me $125.00 for a garbage disposal this is the worst company l have ever dealt with.

I wouldn’t recommend them to my worst enemy.

They should be ashame they took over $750 from me please don’t deal with them. They are rip offs

HORRIBLE customer service and HORRIBLE management! Total lies and rip off!

Sent an incompetent tech to the house who would NEVER show up when scheduled, did not fix the washer, then the company tried to charge full fee to have a new tech look at the problem again. 3 months later washer still not fixed!

Demanded full refund of the contract within 3 months of starting this service and still have not received it! Filed complaint with BBB also!

Select Home Warranty has tried to get 3 different contractors to come and look at my claim and when I contact them they all refuse to work with Select Home Warranty due to non payment and not living up to their word. Before buying with them check with your local repairmen in your area and see who they recommend, I bet it won’t be Select Home Warranty!

I am a realtor and own many homes myself. Purchased select home warranty, went over policy in detail before purchasing.

Had a leak in my plumbing. Plumbers bill said corrosion and leaky pipe. Suddenly the warranty doesn't cover. Nothing about this is OK!!!!

$450 policy and they can't cover a $280 bill?

I will never purchase from them for myself or any of my clients. BEWARE!

Had several items that needed repair over the 3 yr (upfront payment) plan. After providing information, having appliance serviced, they failed to pay claim.

Did this on fridge which failed, cooktop, and others. Said owner fault that damaged.

Crazy. These guys have more small print in contract to "wiggle out" of paying claim, that you would be stunned.

my evaporator coil was leaking house was not cooling called for a/c person they sent out person to diagnose what he found he never called the company to let them know what was going on with system . I had to call a private contractor to diagnose system 386.00 later there telling me they do not cover leaks in system.

how else dose a evaporator coil go bad other then leak I ask them that question they did not have an answer. this company sell *** warranty's do not get them salesman tell you what you want to hear Wtf

air conditioning. they said they don't cover Freon.

We told them it was nothing to do with Freon. They didn't care. It was obvious they only say NO to anything that cost them!!!
